Chapter 10 - Seventy Weeks

Chapter 10  Seventy weeks  24 “Seventy ‘sevens’ are decreed for your people and your holy city to finish transgression, to put an end to sin, to atone for wickedness, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the Most Holy Place.(Dan.9:24) Gabriel came to Daniel with the message from God, revealing God's plan for man till Messiah establishes His kingdom on earth. Gabriel showed Daniel the mystery of the 'seventy sevens' (seventy weeks) set for the purification and restoration of Israel. This is an important prophecy concerning the people of Israel. Explanation of the prophecy:  The prophecy about the "seventy weeks" is recorded in Daniel 9:24-27 24 “Seventy ‘sevens’ are decreed for your people and your holy city to finish transgression, to put an end to sin, to atone for wickedness, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the Most Holy Place. 25 “Know

Chapter 9 The prayer of Daniel  4 I prayed to the Lord my God and confessed: “Lord, the great and awesome God, who keeps his covenant of love with those who love him and keep his commandments, 5 we have sinned and done wrong. We have been wicked and have rebelled; we have turned away from your commands and laws.(Dan 9:4,5) 19 Lord, listen! Lord, forgive! Lord, hear and act! For your sake, my God, do not delay, because your city and your people bear your Name.”(Dan 9:18) What was the secret of success in the life of Daniel? He achieved commendable success in living a holy life, faced trials courageously without wavering, received divine visions and revelations and exalted the name of the living God in front of Gentile kings - all because of his prayer life. Is your Christian life a success? If not, what is the reason? Let us examine our standing in the light of Daniel's experiences. The necessity of prayer: God created man with a glorious purpose. G

Chapter 8  A ram and a goat  19 He said: “I am going to tell you what will happen later in the time of wrath, because the vision concerns the appointed time of the end.[c] 20 The two-horned ram that you saw represents the kings of Media and Persia. 21 The shaggy goat is the king of Greece, and the large horn between its eyes is the first king.(Dan.8:19-21) Why do the nations conspire      and the peoples plot in vain? 2 The kings of the earth rise up     and the rulers band together     against the Lord and against his anointed, saying, 3 “Let us break their chains     and throw off their shackles.” (Psalms 2:1-3) The vision  Daniel was in the palace of Shushan in the province of Elam in the third year of the reign of Belshazzar what he saw a vision. He found himself standing by the river of Ulai and there appeared a ram with two long horns. One horn was longer than the other. The ram pushed westwards, northwards and southwards. No beast

Chapter 7  Four great beasts  Then the sovereignty, power and greatness of all the kingdoms under heaven will be handed over to the holy people of the Most High. His kingdom will be an everlasting kingdom, and all rulers will worship and obey him.(Dan 7:27) Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,  and your dominion endures through all generations. The Lord is trustworthy in all he promises  and faithful in all he does.(Psalms 145:13) Objective: To understand that world empires are cruel and terrible like wild beasts and look for the eternal, righteous and peaceful kingdom of God. Description of the dream Four divers beasts came up from the great sea (Mediterranean sea) when four wings blew upon it from four directions. The first beast appeared like a lion with eagle's wings. As Daniel was looking, its wings came off and the beast stood up like a man. The second beast looked like a bear. It was holding three ribs in the mouth between its teeth. The beas

Chapter 6 God's Judgement

Chapter 6 God's Judgement 37 Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and exalt and glorify the King of heaven, because everything he does is right and all his ways are just. And those who walk in pride he is able to humble.(Dan.4:37) 11 Then people will say, “Surely the righteous still are rewarded; surely there is a God who judges the earth.”(Psa.58:11) Nebuchadnezzar's dream God revealed His glory and power to Nebuchadnezzar through his first dream and the deliverance of Shadrack, Meshack, and Abednego from the fiery furnace. As many people disregard revelations and live without reverence and thankfulness to God, Nebuchadnezzar lived a proud and careless life without any fear of God. Under these circumstances, God warned him through another dream. The Dream 10 These are the visions I saw while lying in bed: I looked, and there before me stood a tree in the middle of the land. Its height was enormous. 11 The tree grew large and strong and its top touched
